Quick answer
Yes. Safe Haven Gates installs automatic farm and ranch gates and automates existing ones when the posts and gate are sound. Most rural gates run on a solar operator, so there is no need to trench power down a long drive. We size the gate for trucks and trailers, set the posts for the weight, and add a keypad, remotes or a cellular call box so family, deliveries and hands can get in.
What we install
Steel and aluminum ranch swing gates, slide and cantilever gates, solar and AC operators, heavy posts and hinges, keypads, cellular call boxes, remotes, vehicle exit sensors and matching field fence.
Service area
Portland metro, Willamette Valley and SW Washington from Portland. Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett and the Puget Sound from Seattle.

New gate or automate the old one?
If the gate is straight, the hinges are good and the posts are solid, we can add an operator. Sagging tube gates and rotten wood posts are usually replaced first.

Where farm gates fit
Farm gates need to open wide enough for a trailer, survive mud, wind and livestock, and keep working far from the house. We build heavy steel gates, set posts in concrete, and pick solar or AC power based on how far the gate is from the barn or house.
Reliable work, a fair price and good communication.

Do farm gates need solar power?
Not always, but most do. If the gate is far from the house or barn, a solar operator saves trenching power down the drive. We size panels and batteries for Northwest winters.
How wide should a farm gate be?
Wide enough for the biggest thing that comes through. Most farm drives use 14 to 20 feet so trucks, trailers and equipment can turn in without clipping the posts.
Can you automate my existing farm gate?
Often, yes. If the gate is straight and the hinges and posts are solid, we add an operator. Sagging tube gates and rotten posts are replaced first.
Will an automatic gate hurt livestock?
Not when it is set up right. We use photo eyes, set force and speed low, and plan gaps and clearance for the animals on your property.
How do deliveries and visitors get in?
With a keypad code, a cellular call box that rings your phone, or a phone app. Many farms give each driver or hand their own code.
How do I get out without a remote?
A vehicle exit sensor buried beside the drive opens the gate when a car or truck approaches from inside.
Do you build ranch gates or only install them?
Both. We build steel farm and ranch gates in our own shop and install them with the posts, operator and access control.
