A code for every person

Quick answer
It depends on who comes to the gate. A keypad is enough when everyone who visits has a code. An intercom or call box lets visitors ring you, and a video intercom lets you see them first. Cellular and app-based units let you answer and open the gate from your phone anywhere. Safe Haven Gates helps you choose on a free site visit.

Can I open my gate from my phone?
Yes. Many keypads and intercoms connect to a phone app over Wi-Fi or cellular, so you can answer visitors and open the gate from anywhere.
Do I need to run a wire to the house?
Not always. Wired units need a cable, but wireless and cellular units do not, which suits long driveways.
Can each person have their own code?
Yes. Most keypads store many codes, so you can give each person or trade their own code and delete it later.
Will a new keypad work with my existing gate opener?
Usually. Most keypads and intercoms work with any operator that accepts a standard input. We check your operator on the site visit.
What is a telephone entry system?
A call box with a directory, used at gated communities and apartments. Visitors find a resident and call them, and the resident opens the gate from their phone.
Do you install video intercoms?
Yes. Video intercoms let you see visitors on a screen or your phone before you open the gate.
Do cellular keypads need a data plan?
Yes, cellular units use a small monthly service plan. We explain the options before you choose.
