Quick answer

How often should an electric gate be serviced?

Most residential gates do well with a service once or twice a year, at a fixed $395 per visit. Busy commercial and HOA gates need it more often, often every quarter, because they run hundreds of cycles a day. Safe Haven Gates sets the schedule on a site visit based on how hard your gate works.

What a visit covers

Hinges, rollers and tracks, operator mounting, limits and force, photo eyes and reversing, batteries, wiring, loops, keypads and intercoms.

Service area

Portland metro, Willamette Valley and SW Washington from Portland. Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett and the Puget Sound from Seattle.

Signs it is overdue

The gate is louder, slower or jerky, stops partway, reverses for no reason, or the remotes only work up close.

What a visit covers

Four systems, one visit.

A maintenance visit is a full check of everything that makes the gate work, not a quick squirt of grease.

02

The operator

Mounting, motor, gearbox, limits, force and the control board.

03

Safety devices

04

What we check

A full system check, not a quick squirt of grease.

Each visit covers the gate, the operator and the access control. We tighten and adjust hardware, clean and lubricate moving parts, test every safety device, check battery health and tune loops and limits, then tell you in writing what needs attention next.

Reliable work, a fair price and good communication.

  • Reverses for no reasonDirty or misaligned photo eyes, or force set wrong.
  • Remotes only work up closeWeak remote batteries or a failing receiver.
  • Gaps and saggingLoose hinges or leaning posts that strain the operator.

This company did a fantastic job on replacing our VERY inferior ALEKO product with a way better LIFTMASTER system. The LIFTMASTER system is miles apart from the other brand! So much smoother, cleaner and so much more! Safe Haven Electric Gates did a great job on the install making our gate open even further than the other brand. Very nice people to work with.

Highly commend the technician Logan Uzan who came out to my home for a service call. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. He was incredibly knowledgeable and pinpointed the issue immediately—truly spot-on with his diagnosis. What impressed me most was his willingness to share his expertise; he actually took the time to teach me a quick fix I could use in the future if the problem were to reoccur. That sort of helpfulness and transparency is rare these days. Safe haven has been extremely customer service oriented from their initial quotes to service calls. Amazing people and service
