What is the difference between wrought iron and steel gates?

Most gates sold as wrought iron today are welded steel made to look like traditional iron. Safe Haven Gates builds ornamental steel and iron gates in our own shop, with arched or flat tops, pickets, scrolls and finials, then galvanizes or powder coats them for Northwest weather. We build matching walk gates so the drive and the path look like one set.

The LIFTMASTER system is miles apart from the other brand! So much smoother, cleaner and so much more! Will an iron gate rust?

Bare steel will. We galvanize or prime and powder coat our gates, which keeps rust off for many years in Northwest rain.

Can you build a walk gate to match my driveway gate?

Yes. We match the picket spacing, top style and finish so both gates look like one set.

Can a walk gate open with a code?

Yes. An electric strike or mag lock with a keypad, fob reader or intercom lets people in without a key.

Can an iron driveway gate be automated?

Yes. We add an arm or underground operator, photo eyes and remotes. We build the frame strong enough for the operator from the start.

Do you repair old iron gates?

Yes. We repair hinges, latches, broken pickets and sagging gates, and can refinish them.

How long does a custom iron gate take?

Design, build and finishing usually take a few weeks. We give you a date with the quote.
